From Hydrocarbon Processing: Global HPI spending likely to jump 15% in 2014

Newfound optimism stems from rising availability of gas supplies in several nations, rich shale reserves in North America, and a new expansion wave for petrochemicals.
The $279 billion in overall spending is up nearly 15% from $244 billion in 2013.
HOUSTON -- The outlook for the global hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) is upbeat. Global spending is expected to exceed $279 billion in 2014, and spending in the US alone is forecast to reach nearly $78 billion.
The publisher and editors of Hydrocarbon Processing released this information at the magazine’s 40th annual HPI Forecast and Breakfast, held Friday at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston.
The $279 billion in overall spending is up nearly 15% from $244 billion in 2013.

I am looking for a seasoned product marketing manager with chemical engineering and operator training simulator or process simulation software experience.
This person is responsible for the definition and execution of the commercial and roll-out strategy of various products, including positioning, messaging, analyst relations, competitive intelligence, success stories, marketing strategy, channel readiness, digital marketing and sales collateral.
Responsibilities include:
- Plans, develops and implements marketing plans and activities including identification of market, estimates of sales volume and profits, and pricing and margin strategies/goals for specific product (lines) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.
- Plans, develops and implements product launch plans, Sales tools, demos and other marketing assets to enable the effective market introduction of new/updated SimSci offerings. Primary product lines supported are: ROMeo: utilities and refinery optimization software, PRO/II: fluids modeling software, DYNSIM: dynamic simulation of plants and control equipment for operator familiarization, training, start up and shut down of processes, EYESIM: 3-D, interactive operator training, CONNOISSEUR: predictive control software.
- Collaborates with a variety of functional areas to develop and provide product/program definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace.
