The Intermountain Power Service Corporation (IPSC) plant near Delta, Utah generates 13 million megawatt (MW) hours of energy a year from two coal fired units and supplies power to 36 different entities that serve Utah and Southern California. IPSC has been reliant on an out of date training simulator for years that no longer served a purpose for the plant. They chose DYNSIM Power simulation from SimSci-Esscor to replace their old version which has allowed them to meet their objectives. Most importantly, DYNSIM Power helps to improve operator training but this solution also shortens commissioning and startup time. To learn more, click here.
About DYNSIM Power: DYNSIM Power is an advanced, unified power plant modeling simulation used throughout the life of a power plant by creating dynamic simulation models. This solution is integrated with DYNSIM, reducing plant startup time. This simulation software validates controls and produces an environment to properly train operators.
